She’s sassy but shy & basically everyone’s trustworthy go-to person. Then there’s Mabel… aka “granny Karen” 😭 the self-appointed rule enforcement officer/matchmaker/pot stirrer of the town. Meanwhile Declan is the tattooed, motorcycle-riding chaos gremlin of the Steele brothers & the tension between these two starts instantly and never really lets up. 🖤 Vibe Check: Enemies to Lovers • Small Town Romance • Forced Roommates • Grumpy MMC • Tattoo Artist MMC • Rule Breaker x Good Girl • “Lessons” trope • Chaos Energy • Alpha vibes What honestly made this so fun was the banter. Declan calling her “Rebel” the entire time??? Gone. Absolutely gone. Their chemistry felt playful but still really hot & the audio made it even better. Aiden Snow’s voice for Declan was basically MADE for this role. I also loved that Pen asks him to teach her things “for research” for her smut writing 👀 (that no one knows about, I mean NO one besides him) which obviously spirals into way more than either of them planned… And becomes their dirty little secret. The sexy-time lessons trope was DONE RIGHT. The Steele brothers as a whole bring so much personality too. Every time one of them showed up, I wanted their story next. Can definitely be read as a standalone, but fair warning: you’ll probably end up adding the rest of the series to your TBR like I did 😂 Readers who enjoyed Marked Men by Jay Crownover will eat this up!
