I continue to be very amazed at how faithful the manhwa is because I don't think I felt anything was left out after reading this volume! However, things I noticed or thought of when reading: - Callisto was still absolutely terrifying, and do not blame Penelope at all for being afraid of him! Granted, when we get to the cave scene, I easily found myself remembering why I ship them and how fun it is when they are together due to their banter! - Derrick is still awful and hasn't changed from my most hated character ever. Man is out here sprouting lies, telling his father that, "I've never despised Penelope or harassed her, Father." LIESSSSSSS!! That scene later on with the bird left such a bad taste in my mouth; despite that, probably with any other character, it would have been fine. (Honestly, I was scared the novel would end with a scene involving him because I'm like, no, please, anyone else BUT him…) - Reynold had his moment in the doghouse last volume, but I genuinely love how his and Penelope's (non-romantic) relationship is changing for the better! Him saying he believed her concerning the allegations/trial, and it isn't like Derrick was absolutely everything! Also, the crazy rumors he started…LOL! Poor Penelope! - Winter reminded me of how much I adored his character (outside of the unhinged moment in volume one) because it deeply warms my heart that he wants to see Penelope smile. 🥹 - Eckles…Penelope, sweet girl, I love you dearly, but I NEED you to think more about those moments where you KNOW something isn't right. This volume, I believe, is a turning point in showing he is far more smart than he lets on… He's not a love interest, but seeing Penelope's father has really touched my heart as well! He really does love Penelope and thought it so wonderful to see many changes in how true that is, such as him throwing Derrick under the bus and sharing how he really DID believe Penelope was innocent. I'm excited to dive into the next volume!!
