Besties, I get it. I’m sad it took me this long to read The Wolf King, but I’m here now, and never looking back! The writing and the world were so easy to grasp. I loved how Lauren set the stage for the hostility between the humans and wolves. It was fascinating to see both sides go to extreme lengths to get the upper hand in the conflict. But sigh what else do we expect from men? Aurora is resilient and compassionate, and desperately yearns to no longer be a pawn in a game of man’s ambitions. She’s especially dreading her upcoming marriage to a demon of a man who gets enjoyment from the suffering and bloodshed of others, particularly wolves. Fate has her path cross with a prisoner Callum, a hunky and protective alpha, and they escape together and head to the werewolf clans. And let me tell you, I was all in and here for their budding romance UNTIL I met the disinterested dark-haired man draped over a chair... Sure Callum’s a gentleman, but let me just say that any man who smells like a dark forest has my vote! 𝙃𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙣𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙝𝙚𝙧. 𝙃𝙞𝙨 𝙜𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙨. 𝙃𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙣𝙖𝙧𝙠. 𝙃𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚. 𝙃𝙞𝙨 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙠 𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙞𝙤𝙧 𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙜𝙮.
