James Hamilton is everything I’ve been waiting for. Ever since the Davenport series, I’ve been curious about this grumpy, ridiculously handsome chef, and trust me—you’re going to love finally getting to know him. From the moment they meet, the attraction between James and Harper is undeniable. Their chemistry is absolutely electric—so intense that everyone around them can see it, and they feel it just as strongly. But James, being more mature and trying to respect the relationship between his sister and his best friend, holds himself back. Even though he clearly wants Harper, he pushes her away… and honestly, the internal conflict makes him even more compelling. The man is a walking contradiction, and I loved every second of it. Then there’s Harper—young, confident, and completely unapologetic about how she feels. She’s drawn to James immediately and isn’t afraid to show it. I love a strong female lead who knows what she wants and goes after it, but what really stood out to me is that she still holds onto her dignity when James rejects her. She’s bold without losing her self-respect, and that balance made her character even more powerful.
