I haven’t gotten this excited about a book in a very long time. Immediately a new autobuy author for me, I was hooked from page one. I’ve always been more of a friends to lovers type gal, but the way this book approached enemies to lovers could absolutely turn me. PERFECTION. They do actually hate each other and they actually had valid reasons why and they ACTUALLY had to work through that. Execution 10/10. They’re both sassy af, BOTH OF THEM, I love a sassy MMC 😭 The humor was top tier, they’re witty and quick and creative as hell—I took notes. While there’s tons of fun, there’s also a lot of pain and shame to be sorted through. The characters are so very real and raw and it was beautiful to see them work through it together. FMC is a bit of a Nesta (from ACOTAR), so if you feel seen in her character, you may also appreciate Annie. I feel like we are so well set up for the next book and you can bet I’m going to be first in line on release day! I’ve also seen Ana Kirk Shaw has three other books published so I’ll be working through those because I just can’t get enough of her writing!
