Where the hell do I start with this book? It was freaken amazing, Colton and Shelley were written beautifully. I thought I had things in common with the last FMC, oh snap then walked in Shelley cause this girl and I are so much alike. We are big-time loners and choose violence when we wake up in the morning. I love getting to know Colton's backstory before we actually got into the actual story. With Adam and Devon, we learned their backstory while we read. The Joker straight up started with it by Colton saying the things he learned in life and the reasons why. It's basically him saying "Hey these past events are why I am who I am now." We don't get to know Shelley's backstory too much other than her father leaving her mother and her two sisters along with her. We do find out that her mother is Grace and her aunt is Rosie, you first met them in Colton's backstory. The Joker is an enemies-to-lovers story all due to Shelley knowing who Colton's father was and what he had done to her mother and her aunt. The two have to join forces to take down the actual evil that is trying to hurt Shelley and her sisters and in the process the two land off having tons of hate sex and discover their love for one another.
