I absolutely loved it, this book had humor mixed with a dark romance, in this case a serial unaliver's slaycation. This is definitely a Lauren Biel-lite or diet LB story, still dark and spicy with questionable morals, but not as overwhelmingly pitch black characters/plot as books like those in her Ride or Die series. I truly appreciate the newest sub-genre in the dark romance books that have that mild romcom feel but still stabby dark at the same time. The perfect blend if you ask me. Kindra and Ezra had so much chemistry, they were just perfect for each other in my opinion. Then we had the little moments where Ezra provided her with meds for her erm... stomach issues when it comes to flying, freaking adorable. I mean that meeting on a plane, I would have perished from mortification if that happened to me. The only thing I didn't care for was just how long it took Ezra to come clean, I felt like the whole last half of the book I was holding my breath waiting for the shoe to drop. Did that stop me from absolutely loving the book? Nope, I still enjoyed every moment of the insanity of this slaycation. I have so many questions about the pineapple scene.... I think I am actually a little flabbergasted. This is not my first Lauren Biel book so it shouldn't be so shocking but somehow this was not what I was thinking was going to happen. This scene is living rent free in my mind purely because my brain has zero idea what to do with this information. To summarize, this was very worth the read I enjoyed the plot from start to finish. Each character was unique and quirky in a.... serial unaliver sense, and the setting was interesting enough to keep me on my toes. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves a good dark romance with characters who have minimal morals but loves a good laugh during their depravity. Check your trigger warnings and have a unbelievable stay at Sinners Retreat. I cannot wait for the next book.
