This story is packed with drama, twists, secrets, and suspense that kept me completely hooked from beginning to end. The plot is action-packed and fast-paced, making it impossible to put down. The story follows Marcella, who is sent by her stepmother to infiltrate the royal ball and gather information to bring down the king. What she doesn’t expect is catching the attention of Prince Rowan—or the way he completely changes everything she thought she knew. Although this is Prince Rowan and Marcella’s story, the storyline continues from Cursed King, and I loved getting more of Sebastian, Bellamy, and the kids. It really adds depth to the world and makes the series feel connected. Rowan and Marcella’s love story was captivating, and I loved watching their relationship unfold. Their chemistry is undeniable, their banter is playful and entertaining, and the tension between them builds into some seriously steamy moments. The mix of mistrust, obsession, and vulnerability made their dynamic even more compelling, and I was very satisfied with their HEA. 🎧 The audiobook narration by Emma Wilder and Alex Knox was incredible and truly elevated the experience. They brought the characters to life so vividly, and their voices complemented each other perfectly. Emma captured Marcella’s fierceness, strength, and vulnerability beautifully, while Alex embodied Rowan’s charm, intensity, and possessiveness so well. I can’t wait for the next book, Stolen Princess! I’m so excited to continue this series, and I highly recommend reading Cursed King (and Cursed Queen) beforehand to fully understand the backstory and overarching plot. By midnight, I was gone, leaving behind a fallen earring and intending to never see him again. That is until months later, I'm placed in the palace as a royal servant and put directly in his path. He doesn't recognize me, but that doesn't mean he trusts me either. Nor should he. I'm part of the curse his family can't seem to escape. A slave with an evil agenda. One that's darker and more sinister than death herself. Only the longer I'm in the palace and the more time I spend with the prince and his family, the harder it is to plot their downfall. Lines get crossed. Tension and mistrust turn into passion and obsession.
