Ember and Finn are exes and find out they will be spending the summer working on a yacht and filming a reality show (think Below Deck vibes), but they are determined to ignore their past. There’s tension, banter, messy history, and undeniable chemistry. You can feel the mixed emotions and the push-pull between them. I was hooked from the first crew interview, and I loved the flashbacks of their history. Ember and Finn have a soul-deep connection, that once-in-a-lifetime love. There’s nowhere to hide on a yacht, though, especially with cameras rolling 24-7. Every stolen glance, every argument, every whisper is recorded. Love is messy, raw, and vulnerable, and these two had an unbreakable bond. There was more to their story than what was written, and I’m glad they found their way back to each other. Second chance at its best. 🤌🏻 With summer ☀️ around the corner, this will be your go-to beach/pool 🏝️ read. “No one in the world knows you like I do.” Finn Pearson and Ember Reed haven’t seen each other for 2 years, not since they had a messy breakup. Now she’s Chief stew, he’s the chef, and they’re filming Close Quarters, a reality show onboard the yacht they have to work on together for the next 8 weeks. Oh, and, Ember’s roommate is Finn’s girlfriend, Gisella. Oops. What could possibly go wrong? "Hello, Firefly.” Ember has had to prove herself, not just that she’s capable of doing the job and getting to be Chief Stew, but also proving to her parents that this is a worthwhile career. Her deepest fear - that she isn’t enough. She wanted her dad’s approval that her career was important and her dreams were valid. I loved that she finally realizes she’s enough for herself, and she no longer needs her father’s approval. It’s told in single POV - Ember’s - but you don’t feel it because you do get Finn’s perspective from the crew interviews. ❤️ He calls her Firefly ❤️ Secret tattoo ❤️ Forehead kisses 💋 ❤️ Hand necklace Favorite quotes: "Some loves are inevitable - meant to be.
