Before I get into my review of Law Maker, please check the trigger warnings, as this book contains themes of DV. I have never had the privilege of reading a Susie Tate book before, but I was blown away by her new release, Law Maker. Law Maker is book number one for her new series, Aristocrats of London. Law Maker follows the story of Lord Rafe Sterling and shy teacher Clara Mason. Clara Mason is one of Mason Prep’s best teaching assistants, where she works with Oscar Sterling, the son of Lord Rafe Sterling. Lord Sterling is one of London's most notorious criminal barristers and is up for a promotion to be appointed a High Court Judge. When Clara finds herself in a position of working as a live-in nanny and tutor for Lord Sterling’s son, she finds herself catching feelings for Rafe Sterling, while keeping a destructive secret. I don't think there was a single emotion I didn't feel reading Law Maker. There was love, hurt, betrayal, spice, joy, and growth. I loved how Susie Tate wrote every character. Each character has a unique story, and they blend into perfection. I enjoyed how you were truly taken on a ride of ups and downs. Law Maker broke my heart and stitched it back together all at the same time. I will now add Susie Tate to my must-read authors list. My finale, though, is where can I get some Brandston Pickles!
