Get lost in it, telling myself it’s just for a moment, when really it’s eternity. I kind of want to fall.” I can’t even begin to tell you guys how much I absolutely loved this book 😫 The slow burn, Drystan?! How could anyone not fall in love. He’s your centuries old grumpy moody king of death that is more than meets the eye, and getting glimpses of a side of him that no one brings out but Rhiannon was everything. Rhiannon found her place in a world that was no place meant for a human. Where words are binding, and can cut sharper than glass. Surviving, thriving, moving forward despite her own physical battles. Tackling trials and the labyrinth, navigating court politics, and slowly falling in love. She earns the love and respect of some of my favorite side characters, showing them it’s a beautiful thing, to be vulnerable, to be a little human sometimes. The pacing was beautiful, I wanted to cry at multiple points in the story, the plot is perfection, and my heart sunk to my ass because wtf just happened lol. The way Clare diabolically gives you this false sense of contentment after everything, just for it to shatter?! 😫 I NEED BOOK TWO LIKE AIR.
