About this book
Cecily Hampton and Dominic Bellinger’s first date ends in a disaster of assumptions, leading Cecily to vow she will never see him again. Fate, however, has other plans when they are both forced into attendance at a mutual friend’s celebration in Las Vegas. What starts as a weekend defined by simmering resentment and sharp insults quickly spirals into a chaotic, tequila-fueled mistake: they wake up married. Before they can file for an annulment, a sudden family crisis intervenes. Cecily’s grandmother makes a final wish to embark on an Arizona road trip with her family—and she expects Cecily’s new "husband" to join them. Trapped in a luxury motor coach with a man she’s determined to hate, Cecily is forced to navigate complex family dynamics alongside an increasingly complicated attraction to Dom. This enemies-to-lovers road trip romance is packed with witty banter, hilarious mishaps—from haunted hotels to accidental nudist colony visits—and deep emotional stakes. As the miles stack up, the barrier between their feigned annoyance and genuine desire begins to crumble. What was meant to be a temporary, drunken accident quickly evolves into something far more permanent as they discover that their "hard feelings" might just be the foundation for forever.

02 4.2 out of 5 stars](javascript:void(0))(1,822) Part of: Serendipity & Shenanigans (3 books) Sorry, there was a problem loading this page. Try again. See all formats and editions A loathe-to-love, road trip romance performed in duet. Cecily Hampton's first date with Dominic Bellinger started out like a dream. The conversation? Flowing. The chemistry? Sizzling. But when Cecily overhears a phone call Dom steps away to take, she grabs her purse and makes a run for it. She knows a red flag when she sees one. Unfortunately, avoiding Dom becomes impossible when they're both summoned to Las Vegas to celebrate their mutual friends. Armed with a vow to hate Dom forever, Cecily lands in Sin City ready to unleash her dirtiest looks on him. Except, Dom's salty attitude is making it clear Cecily isn't the only one with hard feelings. When shooting daggers turns into shooting tequila, Dom and Cecily wake up to find themselves with a nasty hangover and new titles: Mr. &Mrs. A rush to undo the drunken mistake is halted when Cecily's grandmother calls to announce she's dying, and her final wish is to road trip around Arizona with her family. Including her granddaughter's new husband. Cecily can't decide which is worse - being stuck in a luxury motor coach with Dom, or her estranged family. But somewhere between a stay at a haunted hotel and unwittingly attending a nudist colony, their thinly veiled insults and barbed remarks give way to the attraction from their first date. They tell themselves it's just this once...twice...ok, three times. Scratching an itch starts looking a lot like newlywed bliss. And their temporary marriage? It just might turn into forever. ) ©2025 Jennifer Millikin (P)2025 Jennifer Millikin Previous slide of product details 1. Part of series Serendipity & Shenanigans 2. 0Good story! A little slow, but great banter!
Image 93: A 1x1 image, likely be a tacker probe Amazon Customer](javascript:void(0)) 4 out of 5 stars Good story! A little slow, but great banter! Last year I read Here for the Cake by Jennifer Millikin, so I was really excited for the opportunity to read this book. I thought this one was wholesome, sweet and beautiful to read. The book starts with Cecily and Dom going on a date, Cecily overhears Dom talking on a phone call, and thinks he's talking bad about her and so she bolts. She decides to hate and avoid him forever. Unfortunately, her friends' fiancé/her client is actually Dom's cousin. Because of this, they are shoved back together for a joint bachelor/bachelorette party in Vegas. One drunken night in Vegas leads to waking up realizing they got hitched. They then find themselves having to "fake" their very real marriage to go on a forced roadtrip with Cecily’s family as a last request to her Grandmother. I really liked Cecily and Dom’s relationship, they had great banter. Once they realized there was a misunderstanding between them, their relationship really flourished. Their growth was wonderful. I really liked how they came to trust and rely on each other. I also really loved how family dynamics play a huge part in this book. Unfortunately there were a few things I didn't jive with. I felt this one was a bit too slow for me. It took me a lot longer to finish than other books. I think if the book was shortened a little it would improve the pacing and the overall reading experience. I also had a hard time with some of the dialogue. There were certain parts that felt a little too sweet and sugary over the top to me. Whenever anything too sweet was said or happened, it tended to take me out of the story a little bit. Other than that, I thought it was a great story with lots of fun elements and I would definitely recommend this one!
