The kind of book that doesn’t just toe the line, it kidnaps the line, ties it to a chair, and interrogates it. The story follows Liliana, a journalist determined to expose a ruthless crime syndicate known as The Brethren. She never gets the chance. She’s captured by Magnus, a brethren lord who doesn’t just wield power, he weaponizes it. Magnus is not a book boyfriend. Magnus is a 🚩red flag factory. 🚩 What unfolds is dark, brutal, psychologically intense, and intentionally uncomfortable. The dynamic is disturbing, obsessive, and layered with manipulation that will absolutely make you question your own moral compass while reading. And yet… that’s the point. This book is designed to drag your shadow self into the light and ask, “So, you’re still reading this?” The romance, if you can call it that…Very much leans hard into an extreme Stockholm syndrome dynamic with a very twisted version of a HEA. It’s the kind of ending that makes you stare at the wall for a minute and rethink everything you know about love. But also, weirdly fits the story’s tone perfectly.
