Plot: 5 📍 Spice: 3 ❤️🔥 Overall: 5🌟 Seriously, if Ms. Lockheart writes it, I want to read it! We first met the Lockwood family with Hunter in the Vendetta Duet, another 5🌟! You don’t have to read this one first, but it gives some great context for this story! This is a new duet with a different brother, Grayson and is a slow burn building up to all out scorching race against the clock with a heart-stopping cliffhanger ending! (Obviously, because this is a duet!) This isn’t as dark as Vendetta, but definitely still on the “Dark Romance” spectrum. Let’s say it’s a lovely medium gray? ✔️Badà$$ yet believable FMC ✔️Even more Badá$$ yet broken MMC ✔️Shared past trauma ✔️He holds her hostage instead of 💀ing her ✔️He's all the mixed green and red flags ever.... Grayon's abysmal lack of social skills due to his chosen career path and it's accompanying lifestyle and therefore his absolute best attempts to navigate the female emotions (after he tries to k!ll her... twice... but with good reason. Sort of...) are adorable! Ivy is such a fantastic woman - she's real, relatable, believable and that's the best part. Is she a fighter? Yes! Can she at her petite stature beat a highly trained and skilled man? No. But she sure can land a few well placed punches and possibly get away! So good! I absolutely can not WAIT to read the conclusion!!!
