I just finished Child of Shivay and this gifted author outdid herself!! She ruined me in the best possible way with this absolutely amazing debut novel! She knocked it out of the park, and I am choked up (speechless), served up, topped off but still wanting oh...so...much...MORE! This profound romantasy will be consuming my thoughts and feelings from here on forward (and has been from page one!). It belongs on the NYT Bestseller list! Put it on your TBR STAT! Her writing made me feel like I was there and among the characters. I felt like I became a character! I found myself yelling at characters and talking to them like they could hear me 🤣 She invoked so many different types of feelings (does spicy count as a feeling?!). A young woman named Shivaria is a trained elite assasin from La'Tari in the Southern Continent of Terr with the directive to kill the Feyn King in the Northern Continent called A'Kori. Upon arrival she meets the King's General early on and they do not play well with each other at first especially because she is pretending to be something she's not and has to live a lie in order to achieve what she set out to do, but as time goes by she becomes friendly with the general and people in A'Kori yet she can still never trust anyone as she's been taught, and they can't ever fully trust her. And so begins a dance of deception between "friends". She is told stories she never knew from the Northern folk, but are they true or false? Is everything she was told to believe a lie or are her new friends liars? What is real and what's not?
