Rating: 4/5⭐ Spice Level: 3/5 Tropes: Alien Romance, Miscommunication, Barbarian/Warlord, Forced Marriage (sort of) This was a fairly lightly spiced alien romance, not quite as... um... hard...? as some others I've read, but still enjoyable with a solid storyline. As per usual, the miscommunication trope is heavily present, but not quite as much so due to the Universal Language utilized, so it was kept mostly to cultural/societal differences. Luna (FMC) is a fairly strong heroine, not so stubborn to cause an excessive amount of tension between her and Arokan (MMC), but she does stand up for herself. Arokan is the typical stoic seeming warlord who has to look strong in front of the Horde. Their relationship of course starts off rocky, but evolves well over the course of the story. They have great chemistry together despite some of the misunderstandings, and actually talk through things. I liked how the cultural differences were handled and her efforts to become an accepted part of the Horde as well as his willingness towards leniency in regards to the human village(s). The spice is good and explicit, and well-distributed throughout the story (though I wouldn't have said no to one more scene thrown in the in the last 20-30% of the book). Overall, a good balance of plot and spice, but slightly skewed towards plot/story. So if you like other alien romances such as IPB, Taken To Voraxia, Clecanians, this one should be added to your TBR.
