I was ecstatic when it was finally released. Cora Reilly never disappoints, but I was surprised how the story unfolded. The Camorra Chronicles are my favorite trilogy, and I loved that we got to see our favorite characters of the Falcone clan it’s always such a delight to read their bantering. We even get to see the Vitellos! I saw that the book got a lot of negative back lash and throughout reading the story I do understand why some of the readers were a bit disappointed, but it was still a phenomenal read for me. As Remo’s son I think we expected Nevio’s story to be just as crazy or even more wild than Remo’s story. In truth it was actually a slow burn. If you read Greta & Amo’s story you’ll see that Nevio’s character is unhinged. He must maim and kill, he’s a monster, it’s part of who he is. After a twist I did NOT anticipate, Nevio is determined to challenge his demons so he can become a better man. We get a taste of what the unholy trinity is all about which was remarkable. Alessio and Massimo are his ride or die for sure. I was laughing a lot though out the book. There brotherly bond was powerful. I loved the possessive side he had for Rory. I wasn’t mad at the stalking and his murderous side if anyone dared to get close to Aurora 🥵She wasn’t exactly what I expected her character to be. If I’m being completely honest I felt she overreacted with her encounter with Nevio at the party. She was so furious with him and blamed him for what happened, but I felt she was also to blame considering the situation. Plot wise I do wish there was more. When I say more I mean I’m at the edge of my seat. I wished I got to see Nevio’s POV of when he was 12 years old like we got with Greta and also the near death experience he mentioned when he was in Italy. The spice was on point! 🌶️🌶️🌶️ I mean Cora never disappoints in that department. Nevio is so HOT in the spicy chapters so that was very intoxicating 🥵🥵 Overall absolutely adored the book. The Falcones will always have a special place in my heart ♥️ Also we get to see the parent’s POV Remo, Serafina, Leona and Fabiano which was impressive.
