I have had this on my TBR since its release and finally just got around to reading it. The audiobook is absolutely delicious! I loved the subtle nod to Alex from the Forbidden Love series and subtle things like that is why LJ is such a unique and talented author. Overall I really loved this book, the small knocks for rating is just the overall pacing and confusing start of the book. Initially I was a bit worried I wasn't going to get into the story it felt like I was jumping into a story that had already been started and I was super lost but then as we got more information the easier it was to understand. At first I thought I wasn't going to like the FMC because she seems so timid and shy but as you learn more about her and her story and see the growth that occurs you really fall in love with her character and appreciate that soft side. I feel like I can even more closely understand and relate to her in certain situations and aspects and of course just love a strong FMC. The MMC was so heartless and growly in the beginning but eventually again you couldn't help but fall in love and appreciate his progress and background as well. These two are a match made in heaven!
