Amazon Customer](javascript:void(0)) 5 out of 5 stars Next big fantasy romance series From the first page, this fantasy romance starts off with the most intriguing revenge plot, full of action and court politics. I was fully hooked, emotionally invested and desperately hanging on the edge of every chapter. While this is a slow burn, enemies to lovers dynamic, it’s definitely more one-sided, with the mmc falling first, hard and fast. The kind of devotion where he would light up the world to keep her safe. The yearning and chemistry simmers between all the banter and sharp words from the fmc. She starts the story with an impossible mission and choice, and watching her navigate that emotional and moral weight adds so much depth and intrigue to the storyline. I love how Amy Yorke crafted a unique elemental magic system, especially the way the fmc and mmc’s powers are intertwined. I am hoping that book 2 dives even deeper into that connection. The plot moves along with purpose and at a perfect pace. There is sibling rivalry, betrayal, court intrigue, revenge, and action packed twists. I flew through this book and genuinely did not want to put it down…and when I hit the final page, I was sad that it was over. I have no doubt this will be the next big fantasy romance series.
