I've already read the book online as it was published, but I was excited to get a physical copy when Somatic talked about getting it ready for publishing in his latest story's updates. Story is great, and it ruined many nights sleep as I stayed up late to read "just one more" page. I honestly didn't expect the book to be as thick when it arrived, but I guess it makes sense as it is a long read, but worth every sentence! I'll assume most of (you) are from THE PLACE anyway, so you know you'll like the romance elements, but the story wrapped around those moments is well worth the price of admission. Besides, skipping to the end of the book, Somatic relieved one of my fears by saying that the old version of the book will remain free, all the more reason to buy the polished (and to my knowledge expanded) version. The only thing I'm upset about is that I couldn't get a signed hardcover straight out the gate, but that will have to wait I suppose, for now I'm grateful to have this copy, and all (you)r stories SomaticDream! Please never stop writing, and I look forward to a rereading the story of Isaac and Zaria, and impatiently waiting for the updates to your current stories! He has set out from his uncle's tower with a singular goal: to rescue his father from the clutches of an ancient necromancer, who resides somewhere within the corpse of a skeletal colossus. After days of braving the desert, Isaac mistakenly launches a fireball at a pirate ship, and, in the ensuing chaos, soon finds himself at the mercy of the only surviving brigand, a towering hyena known as Zaria. He assumes she will leave him for dead. Instead, Zaria joins his mission by force, seeking the treasure at the bottom of the tomb. Very soon, the two are locked in an unsteady alliance, facing off against deadly traps, ancient machines, powerful sorcerers, pursuing pirates, and all manner of unfolding conspiracy. As the dangers continue to mount, and the possibilities for escape grow ever slim, both human and hyena discover they have more in common than either thought possible.
